Here at Treasure Trove we focus on Quality over Quantity. Every kitten born will be a treasure in someone's life, whether it be a pet or grand champion. So, we concentrate on health, temperment, conformation, coat, color and pattern in that order. We are an in home cattery, where the queens and kittens are raised underfoot. Stud males are often shared with my mom or another breder, so we can have access to the best potential mates for our queens. Not every male is the best pairing for any one female. We believe having access to a variety of quality males helps us improve the breed. Many people only invest in only one or two males and they simply cannot be the best choices for every female. We don't believe in just "having a litter", we strive with each litter to bring the breed up a notch.
Due to the spraying nature of other breeding males, our studs are housed in large, individual, outdoor "jungle gyms". This allows them plenty of fresh air, sunshine and exercise. Plus, they receive love and attention on a daily basis & are big sweethearts. They enjoy interactions and visits to their approx 30 x 12 x 6 jungle replicas. They have wading pools, cat walks, scratching posts, insulated houses, toys, shade trees, sand boxes and a world of entertainment to enjoy.

I basically started showing when I was old enough to walk. It began with me showing little English Call ducks. I then graduated to showing horses when I was 4 years old. I loved the show arena and went most weekends. From showing horses, I moved up to showing Chihuahuas with my mom. I progressed onward and began exhibiting Netherland Dwarf and American Fuzzy Lop rabbits. I competed in heavy competiton for about 5 years and had many Grand Champion and Multiple Grand Champion rabbits. I even had several Best in Show and Reserve in Show Rabbits, including Blue Eyed Whites(BEWs). These are very rare awards for anyone, let alone a youth breeder with BEWs. I was ranked number 1 in the SouthEast region and number 17 out of the whole United States. That was a huge achievement for me. I was also the Netherland Dwarf Youth Representative for the SouthEast region. Last year there was a tragic fire and I was devastated at the loss of my beloved bunnies.
Once I recovered, I talked to my mom and asked her about showing cats. I knew she had shown them for years before I was born and again for the past few years. I loved my mom's Bengals and really got into researching breeders and their lines. I fell in love with the beautiful "snows"... I guess they reminded me of my BEW rabbits. To me, bengals are such gorgeous unique cats but act a lot like dogs. :) My favorite colors in the bengals are the "snows" and silvers. My favorite patterns are the marbles and the ALC rosetted.
We all love our Bengals and we basically agree on most points-health, tempement and conformation. But when it comes to opinions on which is the best color and pattern-we have different opinions. But that is all right...variety is what gives one a spice of life. It would be quite boring if everyone agreed on all points, especially color and pattern. None of us want little "carbon copy" Bengals. Part of their charm, is the fact that each has a unique pattern. :-)
Hope you enjoy my cats and my little corner of the internet. I enjoy meeting new people & chatting, so feel free to email me at: TreasureTrove_Bengals "at" yahoo.com
